Rehacer Break Out of Your Shell.
This specific project for the IVAM by the artist Azucena Vieites (1967, Hernani) delves into the languages linked to a subcultural aesthetic and its forms of production, between the low-fi (low-fidelity) artistic practice and the idea of publishing. Vieites proposes a reflection on contemporary visual culture based on resources such as multiplicity, fragment, appropriation or concealment, questioning the logic of the classical narrative. This project, which begins with a workshop on feminist fanzine with students from the city of Valencia, focuses part of its development on the action of “redoing”, since it is based on the work Break Out of Your Shell (2009) of the author. The proposal, which moves between the poster and the publication, will be installed in different interstitial or transit spaces of the museum, and will directly address the different subjectivities that inhabit it.
